Gluesenkamp Perez Holds Veterans Career and Resource Fair at Clark College

Southwest Washington veterans attend the Veterans Career and Resource Fair Tuesday.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) held a Veterans Career and Resource Fair at the Clark College Veterans Center of Excellence (VCOE).

More than 200 attendees and 55 veterans service organizations, employers, and other vendors were present at the fair.

At the event, Southwest Washington veterans and their families were able to meet with local organizations and employers, learn about employment opportunities, and get support with veterans benefits.

“It’s our responsibility to ensure our nation’s heroes are well-supported after returning home,” said Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez. “I’m so glad we could help connect Southwest Washington veterans and their families to the resources, jobs, and benefits they deserve. I sincerely appreciate all the veterans who stopped by this event, as well as Clark College and community organizations who joined together to support our local heroes.”

Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez’s team always stands ready to support Southwest Washington veterans who need help with a federal agency. Those in need of immediate assistance are encouraged to reach out online, by phone, or in person.

“We are grateful for the collaborative effort with Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez and the community organizations,” said Donna Larson, Clark College VCOE’s Associate Director. “This Career and Resource Fair is a valuable opportunity for our Southwest Washington veterans and their families to connect with local organizations and employers, explore employment options, and receive essential support for veterans’ benefits.”

The Clark College Veterans Center of Excellence coordinates comprehensive support services for veteran students. These services address academic, financial, physical, and social needs for student veterans and include: math, science, and English tutors, textbook and calculator loans, textbook purchase, quiet study space, a computer lab with printers, practical workshops, break areas, and more.
