Gluesenkamp Perez Statement on House Passage of Defense Appropriations Bill
Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) released the following statement after she voted with her bipartisan colleagues to pass the FY26 Department of Defense Appropriations Act (H.R. 4016) last week:
“One of Congress’s most important responsibilities is supporting the brave men and women serving in our military and keeping them out of harm’s way.
I voted with my bipartisan colleagues to pass a bill that extends robust support for our Armed Forces, without any increases to our overall defense spending.
This legislation gives servicemembers a 3.8-percent raise, includes $40 billion for military healthcare, and provides $1 billion to fight drug trafficking, before these deadly substances reach our communities.
I look forward to the Senate continuing to improve this bill to ensure the service and sacrifice of our servicemembers is fully honored.”
