Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez speaks with constituents at the opening of her Kelso office in December 2023.

Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) released the following statement after solving more than 1,000 constituent cases and breaking the million-dollar mark of funds recovered for residents owed to them by federal agencies:

“While today’s divided Congress can move at a glacial pace, my bipartisan team is working each day to provide direct support to people across Southwest Washington.

One of the most important parts of my job is cutting through red tape to get results for folks from federal agencies like the IRS and VA. We’ve recovered sums in the tens of thousands of dollars that can really make a difference for families.

A little over one year in, my office has brought over $1.2 million back home to more than 1,000 constituents, whether it’s from Social Security checks, tax refunds, or veterans benefits owed to our local heroes.

We’re not stopping there, so if you need assistance with the federal government, please reach out to my office so we can advocate for you.”

Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez has closed 1,002 cases and recovered a total of $1,255,037 for Southwest Washington residents – including $521,798 from the IRS, $435,025 from the Social Security Administration, and $147,345 from the VA. The Congresswoman has also responded to 74,817 letters, calls, and emails from constituents.
