Gluesenkamp Perez Statement on Shooting at Vancouver Mall

Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) released the following statement regarding last night’s shooting at Vancouver Mall:

“Yesterday evening, families who were looking to celebrate Halloween safely at the mall were put in a horrifying situation no one should experience.

I’m praying for the family of the victim, those recovering from injuries, and all those who were affected by this terrible act of violence.

I am thankful to local and regional first responders who promptly responded to the scene and helped those hurt, as well as mall security and employees who acted quickly and courageously to keep folks safe.

I hope the perpetrator will be swiftly apprehended and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and I’ll continue to closely monitor this situation.”
