Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) announced she is seeking nominations for her inaugural Congressional Leadership Awards to honor community members who represent the best of Southwest Washington.

This quarterly honor will recognize residents of Washington’s Third District who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, service, or heroism. Ideal candidates will have gone above and beyond to make a significant positive impact for their communities or fellow citizens.

Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez welcomes nominees from all backgrounds whose work has largely gone unrecognized, including, but not limited to, outstanding first responders, educators, veterans, farmers, tradespeople, caregivers, and young people. Nominees may have demonstrated commitment to their community through their actions individually or through their involvement in an organization.

Nominations should be submitted at gluesenkampperez.house.gov/awards by November 10, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

Honorees will be announced and recognized for their achievements later this year.

“As I’ve traveled across Southwest Washington, I’ve met some incredible, skilled folks dedicated to improving life in their communities and doing meaningful work in service of their neighbors. They embody a spirit of self-sacrifice and don’t think twice about stepping up or stepping in when they’re needed most. They sure as heck don’t look at someone’s bumper stickers before helping pull their truck out of a ditch,” said Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez. “I’m kicking off my Congressional Leadership Awards to honor the outstanding leadership, service, and heroism that goes unrecognized across Southwest Washington each day. I hope you’ll take the time to nominate someone who has positively affected you or has been putting others first in your community.”
