Today, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03) released the following statement after solving more than 1,700 constituent cases and breaking the three-million-dollar mark of funds recovered for residents owed to them by federal agencies:

“My bipartisan team has now brought more than $3 million back home to more than 1,700 constituents facing difficulties with a federal agency – from veterans benefits to hard-earned social security checks to delayed tax refunds. We’ve also served nearly 100 folks through 14 mobile office hours held across every county in Washington’s Third District.

Reaching this milestone so quickly is a testament to the power of our community to get the word out to friends, family, and neighbors about the services my team offers. I encourage you to continue to spread the word when you run into folks at church, the grocery store, or the gas station.

My office has returned sums in the tens of thousands of dollars that truly make a difference for seniors, veterans, families, and small businesses across Southwest Washington. But we’ve also been able to assist with service medals, visa application challenges, and firearm transaction delays.

Reaching out isn’t only about your fight with one agency – it’s also about helping me hear about systemic issues affecting our community so I can fight for a more responsive federal government.

Having run a small business, I know how profoundly frustrating it can be to engage with a federal agency and not get quick or helpful responses. There’s no problem that’s too small, so I encourage you to please reach out if you need us to advocate for you.”

Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez has closed 1,712 cases and recovered a total of $3,000,460 for Southwest Washington residents – including $886,468 from the IRS, $1,035,308 from the Social Security Administration, and $479,477 from the VA. The Congresswoman has also responded to 119,766 letters, calls, and emails from constituents.

In August, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez reached the two-million-dollar mark recovered for constituents.

Success stories of constituents the Congresswoman has assisted can be found here.

Those in need of assistance with a federal agency can reach out online, by phone at (360) 695-6292, or in person at the Congresswoman’s Vancouver or Kelso offices.
